Kathmandu, 24 January: The Nepal Tourism Board has shown activeness in publicizing and promoting Nepal’s tourism in the global market. The board has been actively participating in international fairs with the aim of presenting Nepal as a major destination worldwide.
In line with its strong commitment to promoting Nepal’s tourism, the board has actively participated in prestigious international tourism fairs including the Adventure Travel Show in London, Vacantibeurs in the Netherlands, CMT in Germany, Fitur in Spain, OTM in India, and Matka in Finland, according to a statement issued by the board today.
The board stated that these events are serving as important venues to showcase the country’s diverse heritage, including adventure travel, cultural heritage, and sustainable tourism promotion. Each fair saw enthusiastic participation from Nepal’s tourism industry companies.
The board stated that the participating companies presented their services to international stakeholders, and the collaboration between the board and the private sector played a significant role in promoting global tourism, strengthening relationships with travel companies, and paving the way for mutual development.
Deepak Raj Joshi, the executive chief of the board, informed that visitors showed great interest in the stalls set up by Nepal at these fairs and interacted with representatives of the travel industry to learn about Nepal’s religious and natural heritage. He said that a significant number of companies from Nepal participated in these fairs held in January.
According to CEO Joshi, at the Adventure Travel Show held in London, seven companies from Nepal’s travel industry, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, presented Nepal as a leading destination for adventure and cultural tourism. Eight companies participated in Matka in Finland, while seven companies presented Nepal’s proposed services at CMT in Germany.
It is reported that 27 companies are participating in FITUR in Spain, while 28 companies will participate in OTM in India. OTM is being organized in Mumbai on January 30 and 31. The board has further strengthened Nepal’s presence in the global tourism market by participating in these fairs, the statement said.
The Nepali delegation attracted a diverse audience, focusing on the country’s religious and natural heritage, Himalayan trekking, spiritual experiences, vibrant festivals, and rich biodiversity.
Joshi, the board’s executive chief, expressed confidence that major international tourism fairs would help establish Nepal as a unique destination. “Nepal is not just a destination; it is also an experience that touches the soul,” he said. “Through our participation in these major international travel fairs, we are establishing Nepal as a must-visit destination. We are confident that collaboration with tourism service providers will promote the tourism sector here and improve the economic situation by promoting tourism.”
He mentioned that the board is leading the promotion of Nepal’s international tourism and welcomes continued collaboration and partnership for sustainable and inclusive growth in the tourism sector.
