RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane Visits India Today

Kathmandu, 1 June: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane is set to visit India on Monday. According to the party, he will travel to India from Jestha 18 to 22 (June 1 to 5) at the invitation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Naveen.

As per a press statement issued by the party on Sunday, Chairperson Lamichhane is scheduled to hold high-level political and diplomatic meetings in New Delhi during his visit. He will also meet and hold discussions with BJP leadership. Additionally, he is expected to interact with the Nepali community and party well-wishers residing in India. A visit to Ayodhya is also included in his itinerary.

Accompanying Lamichhane on the visit will be RSP Co-General Secretary and Member of the House of Representatives Bipin Kumar Acharya, Secretariat Member and MP Deepak Bohora, Nikita Paudel, and Pradeep Acharya. According to party spokesperson Manish Jha, the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi is coordinating arrangements for the high-level meetings. The RSP has expressed confidence that the visit will further strengthen Nepal–India relations and enhance dialogue between political parties of the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Swatantra Party has intensified preparations for its first historic national convention by forming a main organizing committee. The committee, chaired by Rabi Lamichhane, aims to ensure that the convention is well-managed, representative, and organizationally strong.

The party’s first national convention is scheduled to take place on Asar 7, 8, and 9, 2083 (June/July 2026) in Chitwan. The main organizing committee includes senior leaders, central committee members, and provincial chairpersons. Members of the committee include Vice Chair Dr. Swarnim Wagle, General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Manish Jha, Sobita Gautam, Shishir Khanal, Hari Dhakal, among others. All central committee members and provincial leaders have been involved in the preparation process.

In addition, a party secretariat meeting discussed organizational expansion and preparations for the convention as key agenda items. The meeting reviewed the current political situation, organizational strengthening, and recent party activities. Discussions were also held on the nomination of members to the disciplinary committee, election committee, and various departments, as well as potential disciplinary actions, procedures for provincial conventions, and structural preparations related to the national convention.
