Many people attraction climbing Manaslu

Kathmandu, Ashoj 17 (Oct 3): Manaslu (eight thousand one hundred and sixty-three meters) has increased the attraction of climbers. The eighth highest in the world and the seventh of Nepal, like previous years, Manaslu climb has attracted the attention of climbers in this year’s fall (autumn) season.

According to Rakesh Gurung, Director of Tourism Department, 308 people from 28 climbing groups have taken permission to climb Manaslu this season, and most of them have climbed. There are 82 women and 226 men in it. “The attraction of climbers has been seen in Manaslu climbing”, he said, “Manaslu climbing is almost over, most of the people who have taken permission have successfully climbed. Now Manaslu climbing can be done in one or two days.”

Climbing started here two weeks ago. According to the department, 301 people from 26 climbing groups had taken permission to climb Manaslu in the same season last year. At present the climbing of Amadablam and Himlung is also going on. The department has mentioned that mountain climbing is encouraging despite the natural calamities such as floods and landslides in the country due to continuous rain on September 27th and 28th. The department said that although there was not much damage in mountain climbing, there were some problems in hiking.

This season, 510 climbers including 113 women and 379 men from 61 climbing groups have taken permission to climb 34 mountains and ‘peaks’ including Manaslu, according to the mountaineering branch of the department. Climbers from 58 countries, including Nepal, have taken permission to climb various mountains. Autumn is considered the best season for climbing Manaslu, so it is preferred by most climbers. Two days after that, on May 11, Japanese Norbu Higeta and Kiichiro Kato climbed Manaslu. On May 18, 1956, Swiss nationals Anse Rage and Ritz Luchisinger climbed Manaslu.

Pasangfurwa Sherpa, executive director of Seven Summit Treks Pvt. Ltd., informed that more than 80 climbers from his company went on the Manaslu climb. He said that now only about 10 percent climbers are left to climb Manaslu.

The 60-year diamond festival was celebrated in the year 2073 at Manaslu mountain in Gorkha, which has a long history of climbing. This mountain is also called Kutang and the mountain of heart. It is the eighth highest mountain in the world in the Mansiri mountain range. On October 29, 2077, a team of 21 people, including Sheikh Mohammed Hamad Mohammed Al Khalifa, the prince of Bahrain, climbed Manaslu, and this mountain became the talk of the world. According to the Nepal Mountaineering Association, this climbing has helped to further promote Nepal’s mountaineering in the world market.
