Myagdi, 13 Bhadra (29 August): Jomsom-Pokhara flight service has resumed from today after two months. The flight service from Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki Province to Jomsom Airport in Mustang, a tourist district, was suspended from Ashar 17 (July 1) due to adverse weather condition.
Keshav Lamasal, head of Jomsom Airport, informed that after two months, Summit Airlines has operated five flight today. “The weather has improved. The Pokhara-Jomsom flight service has been restarted as the tourist season is about to start,” he said. “The aircraft of Tara Air, a sister company of Yeti Airlines in the private sector, is preparing to fly from 18 Bhadra (3 Sep).”
Chief Lamsal said that 90 people entered the Mustang through five flights. The residents, pilgrims and tourists of Mustang have been relieved after resumption of flight service while transport services are being affected due to landslides in the Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom road. When the road is blocked and there is no flight, one has to pay expensive fees and travel by helicopter.
