Kathmandu, 7 Oct: Today, the Independent Volunteer Campaign team, along with Rajman Manav’s group and Hark Sampang’s team, jointly carried out a reconstruction, cleaning, and repainting campaign at the Kirtipur Police Post. The effort aimed to restore the damaged facility and promote civic responsibility amid the ongoing national challenges following recent Gen-Z movements in Nepal.
Background and Objectives of the Independent Volunteer Campaign
Nepal is currently at a sensitive crossroads. The recent Gen-Z protests have not only highlighted the frustrations of the younger generation but also caused damage to various public and government infrastructures — structures that are part of our national heritage. Their preservation, reconstruction, and proper maintenance are the shared responsibilities of all Nepalis.
In this context, the Independent Volunteer Campaign has launched a nationwide movement titled “Cleanup, Repainting, and Reconstruction of Government Buildings.” The initiative calls on citizens, especially youth, to take direct action in rebuilding damaged public spaces while fostering a sense of unity and patriotism.
Main Objectives:
-
To clean, repair, and reconstruct public structures and government facilities.
-
To promote greenery and encourage the use of eco-friendly materials in rebuilding efforts.
-
To mobilize youth volunteers for community-based work.
-
To spread awareness against corruption and promote social unity, harmony, and civic responsibility.
-
To support initiatives in education, healthcare, relief, and rescue operations.
