Chaudhary Group to employ kin of Gen Z Protest martyrs.

Kathmandu, 8 Oct: The prominent business conglomerate, Chaudhary Group (CG), has announced that it will provide employment to one member from each family of those martyred during the Gen Z protest. This significant declaration was made by CG’s Managing Director, Nirvana Chaudhary, via the social media platform Facebook. The Gen Z protest, which took place on Bhadau 23 and 24(Sep 8/9), saw more than six dozen individuals achieve martyrdom.

“We will provide employment to one member from each family of the martyrs of the Gen Z protest,” wrote Managing Director Chaudhary. “This is not merely our promise; it is our profound duty and reverence. We will stand together, we will rebuild, and we will construct a beautiful and bright future for this nation with hope, empathy, and respect.” According to Managing Director Chaudhary, the CG team is in the process of contacting all the martyrs’ families regarding the employment procedure. For this purpose, Madhusudan Paudyal, the Head of CG’s Corporate Communications Department, can be contacted at mobile number 9851224000.

A Commitment Forged in the Midst of Severe Losses

Despite Managing Director Chaudhary’s announcement, it is notable that the Chaudhary Group itself suffered extensive damage during the protest, including from actions targeting the private sector. The Group has stated that it incurred initial damages estimated at approximately 5 billion Nepalese Rupees. This destruction was a result of vandalism, looting, and arson carried out by protesters.

According to CG, the electronics factory and warehouse located in Satungal, Kathmandu, were set ablaze, leading to the complete destruction of the building, machinery, equipment, commercial stock, finished goods, and vehicles. Similarly, the server and data center of CG Net, located within the same complex, were also damaged.

Other establishments of the Group across various locations, including the capital, were also affected. The showroom of CG Motors in Thapathali and its service center in Harisiddhi were vandalized and set on fire. The private residence of CG Chairman Vinod Chaudhary, ‘Ravibhavan,’ as well as his residence and office in Bardghat, were also subjected to vandalism, looting, and arson.

Substantial damage was also inflicted upon electronics goods showrooms in various areas of the Kathmandu Valley, including Lalitpur and Vishalnagar. In Bharatpur, Chitwan, the CG Landmark commercial building and its shops were looted and vandalized. Furthermore, the Chandbagh School, run by CG Education in Jorpati, experienced looting, theft, vandalism, and arson. CG reported that protesters even set fire to six vehicles used for student transportation.

“The massive damage and destruction to our private residences, offices, showrooms, and factories during the protest has caused us deep pain,” said Managing Director Chaudhary. “Even in this painful hour, we are moving forward with firm confidence on our reconstruction journey and wish to express our high regard for the family, including the Chaudhary Group, during this difficult time.” This statement underscores a remarkable commitment to national healing and corporate responsibility, even as the Group confronts the monumental task of rebuilding its own shattered infrastructure. The dual narrative of offering support while managing immense internal losses paints a picture of an organization striving to lead with resilience and a sense of duty amidst widespread adversity.
