PM Sushila: I will fulfill the purpose for which you fought

Kathmandu, 14 Sep: Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki has met with patients who were injured during the Gen Z movement and were admitted to the hospital. She visited the National Trauma Center at Mahabouddha, Bir Hospital, and Civil Hospital on Saturday afternoon and inquired about the condition of the injured. 

He met each of the injured admitted to the Trauma Center. After meeting each of the 30 injured at the Trauma Center, she wished them well and inquired about their condition. Earlier, Prime Minister Karki had inquired about the condition of the injured from Trauma Center Director Dr. Badri Rijal. Dr. Rijal informed that most of the injured have been discharged and 36 are being treated at the hospital. Out of the 36, 6 are being treated in the ICU, while the remaining 30 are being treated in the ward, he informed the Prime Minister. He replied that the condition of the injured is currently improving. 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Karki assured the injured that she had come to fulfill Gen Z’s dream and promised to leave after fulfilling that dream. The Prime Minister said, “I have come to fulfill the purpose for which you fought, the purpose for which you were injured. You can be sure of this.” Similarly, the injured said that they had no regrets about being injured. The injured said that they had fought for the country and were injured and suggested to the Prime Minister not to let their sacrifices go in vain. 

Similarly, Prime Minister Karki had visited the Nepal Civil Hospital in New Baneshwor and met the injured. Prime Minister Karki met 10 injured people in that hospital. The injured people at the Civil Hospital had urged the Prime Minister not to let their sacrifice go in vain. In response, Prime Minister Karki said that she had come to fulfill Gen Z’s dream and would show it by doing her job. Executive Director of Nepal Civil Hospital Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi informed that out of the 497 injured people who came to the hospital, 11 were admitted to the ward and are being treated. He said that two were being treated in the ICU. 

Inspection of the Police Office 

Similarly, Prime Minister Sushila Karki inspected the damaged Maharajgunj Police Circle and Koteshwor Police Division during the Gen Z movement. The unruly crowd of demonstrators had brutally killed four police personnel working at both units. After inspecting the damaged police units, Prime Minister Karki gathered information about the incident from the chiefs of Koteshwor Police Division and Maharajgunj Police Circle. Due to the attack by demonstrators, two police personnel from Maharajgunj Police Circle and one from Koteshwor Police Division, altogether three policemen, lost their lives.

Thirty-three police officers who were injured during the protest are being treated at various hospitals.  

Briefing with the Chief Secretary 

Prime Minister Sushila Karki is taking office on Sunday. She will attend the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and take office. On Saturday, she held discussions with the protesting Gen Z group and stakeholders regarding how the Council of Ministers will be formed and who will be included. 

Prime Minister Karki held a ‘briefing’ on Saturday with Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal and high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Finance regarding the country’s situation and future roadmap.
