Video competition begins: Winner to receive 10 million rupees

Kathmandu, 26 June: “Face of SY 2082 (Brand Ambassador Hunt)” has been launched by SY Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., based in Tinkune, Kathmandu. At a press conference held in the capital on Thursday, organizer SY Bazar Nepal claimed that this is Nepal’s biggest-ever brand ambassador hunt, with over 20 million rupees in total prize money.

At the event, SY Bazar Nepal’s director Bimal Raj Gosai stated that while Miss Nepal, which is said to offer the highest rewards in the country, provides prizes worth around 2 to 2.5 million rupees, their competition offers prizes exceeding 20 million rupees. He added that since the public might find it hard to believe, they held the press conference to officially inform the media and public.

Director Bimal Raj Gosai claimed that this is Nepal’s first initiative aiming not to select already popular celebrities, but to discover hidden talents from villages across the country and give everyday people the opportunity to become brand ambassadors. He reiterated that with over 20 million rupees in prize money, this is the largest hunt of its kind in Nepal.

As part of the program, the company will select three main brand ambassadors through a competitive process. Both men and women are eligible to participate and compete for selection.

The competition has officially begun and will run until January 31, 2026. It will take place in phases. The first phase runs from June 1 to September 30. To participate in this phase, applicants are required to create a video based on the SY theme.

The top 25 contestants selected from the second phase will move on to the final round, which will be held in Kathmandu. This final phase will take place between January 1 and January 31, 2026.

The final 25 will also undergo training and various evaluations. From this group, the title winner – Face of SY – will be chosen, along with a first runner-up and second runner-up.

At the press conference, program coordinator Bijay Basnet announced that the title winner will receive NPR 500,000 in cash along with a one-year contract worth NPR 10 million. Terms and conditions will apply, and the cash prizes will be subject to tax deductions.
