Chance of heavy rain at some places of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali
Kathmandu, Bhadra 31 (Sep 16): Monsoon continues to affect the country. Due to the partial impact of the low pressure system in West Bengal and surrounding areas in Nepal, the influence of Monsoon air is continuing. According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, it is currently partly to mostly cloudy across the country. Today afternoon, it will be partly to mostly cloudy across the country, while there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini and Karnali provinces and few places in the remaining provinces, the department said.
Heavy rain is also possible at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali regions. There is a possibility of storm in some places of Terai of Koshi Province and Madhes Province.
Similarly, it will be partly to mostly cloudy over the country tonight. It is mentioned in the weather bulletin issued by the department that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces and in one or two places in the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms in some places of Terai and Madhes provinces of Koshi province.
The department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini and Karnali provinces and some places in the remaining provinces in the next 24 hours. Heavy rain is also possible at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali regions.
As there is a possibility of stormy winds in some parts of Terai and Madhes provinces of Koshi province, the department has requested to avoid the risk or damage of disaster such as Gegran flow, flood, landslide and soil erosion that may occur in those areas. In addition, there is a possibility that this will partially affect the daily life of people in those areas, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountain climbing, road and air transport, so the department has also requested to take necessary precautions.
