Galkot, Baglung 27 Bhadra (12 Sep): Three roads here are being upgraded rapidly with the help of World Bank grant. The upgradation of all the three roads, which were inaugurated last Asar (June/July), has been started simultaneously. The head of Baglung municipality, Basanta Kumar Shrestha informed that a contract has been signed with the construction company for pitch road along with the upgrading, which will be completed within one year on the 23 Jeth (May/June). He said that the road will be pitched out with upgrading so that it will be a model up to now.
Although there was a grant agreement between the World Bank and Baglung municipality in 2077, the road construction contract was signed late. With the support of the World Bank, 8.6 km from Mulpani to Titaure in Baglung ward no. 7, 2.2 km Odarchaur to Dhodeni and 1.5 km from Ganesh Ghumti to Nirayaghat have been upgraded with pitch, mayor Shrestha informed.
Mayor Shrestha mentioned that for the first time, a large amount of contract has been signed for pitching the road in the city, and the construction company is working on widening the road, erecting walls and filling the gabion netting in order to finish to pitch the road by next year Jeth.
