Kathmandu, 27 Bhadra ( 12 Sep): Vegetables produced in Nepal have been started to be exported to Qatar from today.

Mohan Basnet, mayor of Dakshinkali, informed that in the first phase of Nepal’s agriculture program with the support of China Foundation for Rural Development Nepal Office, around 2 thousands kilos of vegetables produced in Dakshinkali municipality of Kathmandu were sent to Qatar.

He said, “we have handed over vegetables to the Qatari Ambassador to Nepal Misal Mohammad Ali Al Ansari in program organized today at the Tribhuvan Airport Custom Office.” Similarly, Director General of Agriculture Department, Dr. Narahari Prasad Ghimire said that it is very happy that vegetables are exported from Nepal to Qatar.

Vegetable cultivation was done in Dakshinkali under the agricultural promotion program of China Foundation for Rural Development. It is believed that along with the export of vegetables produced by the farmers there, it will also help the economic development of the country and encourage the farmers. China Foundation for Rural Development  provided farmers with special training and necessary agricultural materials for vegetable production.

It is said that an important initiative has been taken in the agricultural development of Nepal with China’s technical and financial support at the Nepalese fresh vegetable export ceremony in Qatar. It is said that various crops cultivated by the farmers supported by the agricultural promotion program of China Foundation for Rural Development are included.
