New York: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have warned that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan continues to grow, noting that millions of people need immediate assistance. They emphasized the importance of the United Nations agency responsible for providing aid and technical assistance, with permission to maintain a sustained presence in all affected communities. Sudan faces an intense humanitarian crisis exacerbated by ongoing conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which began in April 2023. This conflict has displaced over 11 million people, with 10.9 million now internally displaced and around 2.2 million refugees in neighboring countries. Many civilians, particularly children, are at severe risk, with 3.7 million children under five facing acute malnutrition and heightened susceptibility to preventable diseases due to collapsing healthcare systems Despite efforts from UN agencies, access constraints and logistical hurdles hinder relief operations, with restricted areas preventing aid workers from delivering essential supplies. The United Nations has called for international support, both financially and in facilitating access, to address the increasing emergency needs across Sudan
