Kathmandu, October 28: An Air India flight at Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport was searched due to a bomb threat. The incident involved rumors suggesting that an explosive device might have been placed on board. As a result, authorities took immediate action, grounding the plane and thoroughly inspecting it as a safety measure. After a detailed search, no explosives were found, and the situation was declared safe.
It has been confirmed that there is only a rumor that there is a bomb on the Air India flight returning from Kathmandu to New Delhi. Gyanendra Bhul, co-spokesperson of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAN) said that no bomb was found on the plane after the search operation of Nepal Army.
The information was proved to be false after a search operation was carried out on 40 passengers who had boarded the ship to Delhi. The plane landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 2:55 PM and was scheduled to fly to Delhi at 3:55 PM. It was reported that a bomb had been planted when the passengers from Delhi were being dropped off and passengers were being picked up. There is an international protocol that the security forces should take control of the plane after reporting that someone has planted a bomb. The aircraft is not released for flight until the Army searches and declares it. Lately, rumors are being spread that bombs have been planted in Indian aircraft flying to various destinations. So far, Indian media have reported more than 100 calls for bombs on the aircraft. Air India and Vistara Airlines were the most affected by the false information about the bomb.
