Prime Minister’s appeal to the Nepali community in Europe: “Return home as soon as possible.”
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on an official visit to Spain, has urged the Nepali community to return home as soon as possible, stating that many development and construction works have taken place in Nepal recently and that they should abandon the misconception that nothing happens in the country.
During a discussion with representatives of the Nepali community at the residence of the Nepali Ambassador to Spain, Prime Minister Oli recalled that more roads and infrastructure have been built compared to the past, and even foreigners who visited Nepal before and now have remarked on the country’s increased pace of development.
He said, “Some groups claiming to represent ‘new forces’ and opposing major parties have been spreading despair and confusion through social media. Don’t be misled by such narratives—rather, engage with the belief that something is happening in Nepal and that something must be done.”
Prime Minister Oli further added, “The hype around these so-called new forces has already been exposed. Even before their political rise, they had already misused millions under the name of cooperatives. Though they try to emotionally provoke Nepalis abroad through social media campaigns, in reality, these new parties hold no real value or future.”
Prime Minister Oli reiterated that the power-sharing arrangement will continue until the upcoming elections, and that after one year, as per the agreement between the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress, he will hand over the leadership of the government to Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. He expressed confidence that some internal issues within political parties will not hinder the journey toward development, prosperity and stability.
