WASHINGTON - A new indictment has been filed against former US President Donald Trump for trying to interfere in the 2020 election. After losing to Joe Biden (the current president), Trump has been accused of trying to influence the election results. Jack Smith, the special prosecutor of the US Department of Justice, has charged Trump with four counts of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct government process, attempt to obstruct government process and conspiracy against rights.
Trump has been denying allegations of meddling in the 2020 election. Trump, who has been saying that there was widespread fraud in the names of voters in the election, has not shown any evidence about it. Trump's lawyer, Todd Blanch, has asked to speak to the Trump campaign about the lawsuit, the BBC reported. But it is said that the election campaign did not give any answer.
