Kathmandu, Sept 11: Parliamentarian Rishikesh Pokharel urged the government to ensure that that the individuals having health insurance coverage could avail treatment at any health facility of their choice. Speaking during the emergency hour of the House of Representatives today, Pokharel drew attention of government towards difficulties and inconvenience facing the insured patients while availing medical services through insurance scheme. According to him, patients under insurance coverage are being redirected to other healthcare facilities when they go to health center in local levels. “Thousands of patients are suffering due to health insurance,” he bemoaned. Another parliamentarian duo Hitraj Pandey and Manish Jha recalled the legacy and contributions of late Subash Chandra Nembang in the process of promulgation of constitution. Likewise, Abdul Khan mentioned that the gold traders were duping government and labourers by devising sales and distribution related procedures arbitrarily and thus demanded a legislation regarding sales and distribution of gold and silver to address this issue. Similarly, Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh wanted to know who was responsible for issuing driving license, provincial government or the federal.
