Muglin (Chitwan), 30 Bhadra (15 Sep): The textbook ‘Tamu Quei’ prepared by the Tamu Hyul Chhonj Dhi Gurung National Council for conducting Gurung language classes has been launched. The book was launched on Saturday by Ganesh Bahadur Gurung, Head of Bagmati Province of Tamu Hyul Chhonj Dhi Gurung National Council. Krishna Bahadur Gurung, coordinator of the book publication committee, said that Tamu Hyul Chhonj Dhi published a book for the first time after learning through books was seen to be effective. Tulman Gurung, the author of the book, said that there is no uniformity in the language as there are differences in the Gurung language. Meanwhile, the Tamu Hyul Chhonj Dhi Gurung National Council has conducted Tamu language classes since Saturday. As the number of people who know their mother tongue is decreasing in the Gurung community, classes have to be conducted to preserve it, said Vimaladevi Gurung, president of Hyul Chhonj Dhi. Huel Chhonj Dhi has started conducting regular classes for those who do not know the language since last year.
