Electric bus service started in Itahari, East Nepal

Dharan (Sunsari), Ashoj 2 ( 18 Sep): In view of the convenience of the city dwellers, Itahari sub-metropolitan city has started service with four electric buses from today.

According to Hemkarn Poudel, the head of Itahari sub-metropolitan city, the service has been started by preparing a ‘route’ of bus operation covering all the four areas of Itahari. Despite the expansion of the road network, public transport is not regularly available in all areas of Itahari, so the service has been started as an effort to facilitate the travel of the city dwellers. Currently, Rs. 20 is fixed for this service, which will be operated regularly in the city area from 7 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 7 pm. It was purchased by the sub-metropolitan city last July 22 for Rs. 6 crore 36 lakh 86 thousand. Disabled people can also travel easily in these buses.
