Kathmandu, Ashoj 4 (Sep 20): News has been received that Constitution Day has been organized with various programs in the embassies of Nepal located in different countries of the world. Those embassies issued separate press releases that the day was celebrated joyfully in the Nepali missions in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Cairo and Copenhagen.
According to the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, a special program was organized on Thursday. Ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri, diplomatic staff of the embassy and their families and representatives of various Nepalese organizations in the United Arab Emirates and Nepalis who were there for work were present in the program which started with the national anthem and honoring the known and unknown martyrs.
On that occasion, Ambassador Chettri said that it is the responsibility of all of us to maintain sustainable peace, development, prosperity and good governance in the country by developing the rights, rights, values ​​and democratic governance system of the people guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, obtained after great struggle and sacrifices of the Nepalese people.
Likewise, Surendra Kumar Yadav, the Acting Ambassador of the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, while discussing the importance of the Constitution Day, said that the new constitution has contributed to the establishment of equality, inclusiveness, and democratic values ​​in the country. A variety of cultural programs were also organized at the ceremony, which was chaired by Liu Jinsong, Director General of the Asian Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was attended by 250 people, including heads and officers of diplomatic missions in Beijing, representatives of international organizations, Chinese entrepreneurs and businessmen, media personnel. Before that, the national flag of Nepal was hoisted in the embassy premises.
Similarly, in the presence of Ahmed Shahin, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific and Australia and New Zealand Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, the Constitution Day ceremony was held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. Assistant Foreign Minister Shaheen expressed his belief that mutual cooperation between the two countries will expand in the fields of trade, tourism and education.
Sushil Kumar Lamsal, Ambassador of Nepal to Egypt, said that the Constitution of Nepal is a milestone in the modern history of the country and expressed his belief that the political, economic and cultural relations between Nepal and Egypt will be strengthened in the future. On that occasion, a cultural program was also presented by Nepali students studying in Egypt. According to the embassy, ​​during the ceremony, the photographs taken by Yasser Ala Mubarak, a photojournalist of Egypt, taken in the Pashupatinath temple premises during Shivratri last year were also exhibited.
Likewise, in a program held at the Nepali Mission in Copenhagen, the head of the mission, Savitra Oli, recalled the historic day when representatives elected by the people made the constitution of Nepal after seven decades of struggle and said that the constitution has contributed to the institutional development of democracy. While discussing Nepal-Denmark relations, he emphasized on the growth of trade, tourism and people-to-people relations. On that occasion, more than 100 people were present, including senior officials of the Danish government, the head of the city of Copenhagen, the head and officers of the diplomatic mission there, heads of international organizations and their representatives, professors, friends of Nepal, non-resident Nepalis living in Denmark and media persons.Â
