Constitution Day and National Day 2081 are being celebrated with joy today

Kathmandu, Ashoj 3 (Sep 19): Constitution Day and National Day 2081 are being celebrated today with great enthusiasm by organizing various programs at home and abroad. President Ramchandra Paudel will participate as the chief guest in the main ceremony of the Constitution Day organized by the government of Nepal this morning at Sainik Manch Tundikhel.

On that occasion, Chairman of Constitution Day Main Ceremony Committee and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address. President Paudel will hold a reception at Rap Bhavan this evening. On the occasion of the Constitution Day, various programs will be organized by the federation, state and local governments, political parties, non-governmental organizations, civil society, private sector and social organizations. Constitution Day programs will also be held at Nepali diplomatic missions abroad.

The Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was promulgated on 3rd October 2072 by the Constituent Assembly, which was formed as a result of seven decades of struggle, sacrifice and people’s movement. The constitution of Nepal written in thirty-five parts, article 308 and 9 schedule has adopted the aspects of federal democratic republic, inclusive democracy, proportional inclusive representation, secularism, etc. The government has been celebrating the day the Constitution was promulgated as Constitution Day and National Day every year. It has been nine years since the implementation of the Constitution of Nepal, which continued with all the constitutional provisions of ‘Governing by the people for the people’.

In celebration of the Constitution Day, there will be a National Day musical performance at the Durbarmarg in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, on the occasion of the Constitution Day, the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, Speaker of the National Assembly and top leaders of various parties have called upon the general public to celebrate the National Day grandly in a festive atmosphere through greeting messages. The government has also called on everyone to celebrate Diwali and hoist the national flag on the occasion of Constitution Day.
