Article: Lokendra Bhatta, he is visually impaired, bachelor passed in journalism

Kathmandu, 20 February: Basant Upreti is now 53 years old, he says: I was not born blind, I was sighted at the age of 4-5 years.
When he went to play, he saw well everything and kept playing. But what happened I could not see the ball; became blind from that time, said Upreti. According to the above, childhood was spent in a low middle class family. Upreti said, I saw dream,
When he went to fill water in a stream, when he returned with water, an invisible sound came and that sound made him cry, learn music; The voice came and disappeared.

After only one year, he received the harmonium, said that he was able to play the harmonium on the Deusi Bhailo during the Tihar month of August to September. Later, a musician also informed me that he had met Nar Raj Dhakal and started his career in learning music.
The teacher used to teach me new music formula, no matter how much I practiced, if I fell asleep asking how to do it, then the invisible power would come to me in a dream and teach me music formula and I would apply those formula to practical use. That would have been a better way than what the Guru had taught.
I came to know this later, that he was Gandharva Gurudev. If I come across something new, I still ask questions and go to sleep, even now I get the answer in my dreams invisibly, so there is no fear of any problem in my mind. Some time after Upreti took that music training, he felt that I should buy a formal music education, because music at that time; The university where I had to learn, was not open in Nepal, so there was no option for me except to study abroad.

He went to the Elahabad University School in India and began his formal education in music. After that, it was the first music university in India, from this school he returned to Nepal after passing the best post-graduate level of India, i.e. Nepal's music master level. At that time, government and private universities were opened music class in Nepal. Even though he did many trial classes in that university, the university that not want him to hire as music teacher because he was visually impaired, again, in Nepal after the year 1991, because the certificate obtained after studying in an Indian school was not recognized, because the formal music education of Upreti was not recognized, this recognize was only S.L.C equivalent, he told Buddhist Khabar that he felt bad for only being recognized.

Upreti said that although he is blind, he is currently the father of 2 daughters and 1 son, his wife, son and 2 daughters are not blind. He also mentioned the happy aspect of one daughter nursing in UK, one daughter graduating in Nepal and working as a consultant, son studying for certificate level. In another context, he said, "I also believe in spiritual science, and I heal the sick from any disease." Upreti now runs the Divine Sound Music School, and he teaches music in that school.

With the influence of this knowledge, I can conduct the best music class. College certificate level, graduate level, postgraduate level, studying, ; Elderly, children, working in pairs even young people come for training, I have sent the trainees to practice music well. How do you feel about being blind? He laughed and replied question; I don't think I'm blind. I can walk like anyone else, I can do anything, I can work as a plumber apart from music, I can repair electrical equipment, so I'm not blind.
Upreti is currently serving as the Executive Chairman of Nepal United Blind Association, and is running an orphan home at Tarakeshwar Municipality Ward No. 1 Sangla. He is also involved in various types of social work and social service by being an executive in various organizations.

Upreti says “I currently give training in madal, tabla, harmonium, flute, and singing. There is no teacher of any genre except in my singing. I am now able to play all the instruments. This is all due to deep sadhana.
