Foreign tourists in Nepal

Kathmandu, 05 October: - In the 10 months of 2024, 940,732 foreign tourists have come. According to the data of Nepal Tourism Board, a total of 124,393 foreign tourists came in October. This number is 6.4 percent higher than the same period last year.

In October 2023, 117 thousand 306 tourists came. According to the board, there has been a revival in the number of tourists by 92.96 percent compared to the year 2019 before the Covid-19 (corona epidemic). In October 2019, 1 lakh 34 thousand 96 foreign tourists came. Expected tourists did not come in October. It can be estimated that tourists will increase in the next two months, he said.

Number of Indians and Chinese tourists declined

In October, 16,313 tourists came from India. Last September, 22,984 tourists came from India. This is about a 13 percent decline. In August, 25,832 Indian tourists came. In October, 7,750 tourists from China visited Nepal. Eight thousand and forty-two Chinese tourists came from China in September and six thousand six hundred and fourteen in August. It is estimated that Indian and Chinese tourists have decreased due to the monsoon.

American tourists increased

In October, the number of tourists coming from America increased by 12.88 percent compared to the previous month and reached a total of 16 thousand 23. In September, 10 thousand 84 American tourists entered. Eight thousand 19 tourists have entered Nepal from Britain. 6,929 tourists came from Australia, 6,018 from Germany and 5,485 from France. 4,476 tourists came from Bangladesh, 3,112 tourists from Sri Lanka and 2,635 tourists from Italy.
