I am travelling to world by bicycle with my friends. We were travelling in India on March 2024 from Nepal. We were travelling for India and Sri Lanka. India is large land and difficult to travel all over the country. We have seen different faces, different languages and different foods in India. We focused South Indian side because we want to enter to Sri Lanka from ship.
We travelled Chennai to Mathurai, Kanyamkumari, Rameshoram and many more. South India is very hot. When we were travelling there, many South Indian were looking us with curiosity. We collected many experiences from there specially foods. They use vinegar in foods and we do not like sour taste much. We searched Google information to use ferry to go Sri Lanka. Google map gave us Rameshoram to use ferry for Sri Lanka. We reached Rameshoram and asked the local people for ferry ticket but nobody knows about it. One of the woman who travelled from Delhi told us to go to Chennai and get ferry ticket from there. We went back to Chennai and stayed with local friend’s house. He helped us so much. We asked ferry ticket there but we have to book before more than 2 weeks. We decided to take flight for Sri Lanka. We bought flight ticket and went to Chennai international airport.
We felt so much shameful experience with Indian immigration in airport. They stopped us and questioned many many more I never faced before. We just wanted to go to Sri Lanka for cycling not other purpose. I think there were about 7-8 immigration personnel and all checked our mobile phones. Why they don’t believe senior officer checking our phones. I have a question to them. They all checked our mobile one by one there and hold us about 1 hour 30 minutes. I have already travelled Schengen countries before. They hurted us in world cycling. Why did they question us so much and not want to give entry permit us? Indian airlines requested for us many times to freed them because of delay. At last they permitted us to go to Sri Lanka. I will write next explore of Sri Lanka.
