Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife arrested: President Trump

US President Donald Trump mentioned on Saturday that the US had launched a major attack against Venezuela, stating that current President Nicolas Maduro and his wife had been arrested and expelled from the country.

“US President Donald Trump announced via social media that the United States had successfully attacked Venezuela and President Nicolas Maduro, arresting him along with his wife and expelling them from the country. According to Trump’s confirmation of Maduro’s arrest, tensions have escalated between the United States and Venezuela.

It is reported that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly accused the Venezuelan president of leading a “narco-terrorist” government. The US had also imposed sanctions on ships allegedly involved in Venezuela’s oil trade. At the same time, the US military has increased operations against Venezuelan vessels in the region, accusing them of being involved in drug trafficking.

Trump has reportedly called for Maduro to step down, accusing Venezuela of working against the US. Meanwhile, the Venezuelan government issued a statement on Saturday condemning the US military aggression against Venezuelan territory, accusing it of violating the United Nations Charter and endangering regional peace and stability.

In an official statement, it was mentioned that the US attacked civilian and military sites in Caracas, Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, violating the UN Charter and international law. The Venezuelan government stated that the aim of the attack was to seize the country’s strategic resources, particularly oil and minerals, and to undermine Venezuela’s political independence.

The statement called on the Venezuelan people, inspired by the legacy of Simon Bolivar and other national leaders, to once again defend their freedom and urged all social and political forces to reject the imperialist aggression. The Bolivarian National Armed Forces have been deployed nationwide to guarantee sovereignty and peace. Meanwhile, diplomatic channels have been activated to file complaints before the UN Security Council and the UN Secretary-General.

It is reported that President Nicolas Maduro has ordered the implementation of the national plan in accordance with the constitution and relevant national security laws and has signed a state of emergency order in Venezuela. A comprehensive national defense command structure has been deployed at the state and municipal levels. Invoking Article 51 of the UN Charter, the Venezuelan government has affirmed its right to self-defense to protect its people, territory, and independence, and called on governments and people worldwide to stand in solidarity.

This statement was issued amid reports of a massive explosion in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, on Saturday, which caused power outages in several areas, as reported by CNN. Reacting to the events, Colombian President Gustavo Petro has called for a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss US actions against Venezuela.
