There will be no shortage of water in Gadhimai Mela: Minister Yadav

Bara, 19 October: Water Minister Pradeep Kumar Yadav has made it clear that there will be no shortage of food and water at the Gadhimai Mela. Addressing the program organized today at the Gadhimai temple complex after on-site monitoring of the preparations for the Gadhimai fair, he said that there will be no shortage of clean drinking water, accessible toilets and sanitation for the devotees coming to the fair.

Minister Yadav expressed his commitment to arrange for deep boring in some places and to provide some mobile toilets to the fair management committee in view of the insufficient water supply from the ‘overhead tank’. “Discussions are being held at the fair with the provincial government, donors and supporting organizations to prevent any shortage of clean drinking water. We will soon start the construction of sewers and drains, pipe connections for water drainage”, he said. Minister Yadav said that the government will have full support for the fair. He said, “Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has also instructed me to send a message to the officials of the fair committee and the head of Gadhimai municipality to help.”

Minister Yadav praised the local citizens for their full support for the success of the fair since last year. In the program, Kisan Shrestha, the federal MP of Bara Constituency No. 4, urged everyone to make the fair a success. He emphasized that peace and order should be strengthened to bring those who play with the faith of Hindus and try to disrupt the fair in any way under the law. Chairman of Mela Committee and Mahagadhimai Municipality Chief Upendra Yadav presided over the event, Deputy Mayor Taradevi Kanu, Vice President of Mela Management Committee Ramchandra Shah, General Secretary Birendra Yadav and others were present in the event.

Meanwhile, Minister Yadav addressed the district meeting of Janata Samajwadi Party at Karanraj Party Palace in Kalaiya. Minister Yadav, who is also the deputy general secretary of the party, said that the entire party ranks along with him are united in the campaign to make a prosperous Madhesi and a happy Madhesi by taking the joint campaign to the doorsteps of the people. “We are engaged in the campaign of making a prosperous Madhesi and a happy Madhesi by taking the common campaign to the doorsteps of the people”, he said, “His party is committed to advancing the prosperity and development of the entire country along with the Madhesi by being active in the service of the people.”

In the program, Birganj Municipal Corporation Chief Rajeshman Singh expressed the opinion that more struggle should be done for the development and rights of Madhes. He said, “Our struggle for the rights of Madhes people continues and now Jaspa will lead the change.”
