The global community must unite to solve the problems caused by climate change

Mahendranagar (Dhanusha), 27 Kartik(12 Nov): Madhesh Pradesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has said that foreign investment is a positive aspect for the development of green roads in Nepal.

Chief Minister Singh emphasized that the international community should be serious about the issue of compensation for the country’s low carbon emissions, and discussed that the federal government is drawing the attention of the international community to this issue. He mentioned that due to climate change, the country including Madhes province is facing problems such as floods and landslides, erosion of arable land, landslides and landslides, water and irrigation crisis, and avalanches.

“Dry in summer. It gets bitterly cold during winter. Now, during the winter, Nithruk gets drenched with sweat. All this is a crisis caused by climate change”, said Chief Minister Singh. For Chure protection, the provincial government is working on a plan to increase the underground water level by rehydrating and recharging, managing water through the plan to connect the river from east to west of Madhes province, converting Bagar into agricultural land again, and increasing the availability of irrigation by managing floods.

President Ramchandra Paudel has participated COP-29 in Baku, Azerbaijan for 12 to 13 November conference. His speech contributes today about climate change and how effected Nepal by climate change every year.

Summits like COP-29, leaders are focusing on setting aggressive targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase renewable energy use, and adapt to changes already underway.

Global cooperation is essential because climate change is a shared problem that crosses borders. For instance, nations with higher emissions (like industrialized countries) are often the most capable of funding technology to reduce emissions and can aid developing countries. Financial mechanisms, such as the Green Climate Fund, and innovative green technologies are key topics, with wealthier nations called upon to fulfill promises of climate finance to support lower-income countries in their own transitions.

Recent reports from the United Nations and the IPCC underscore that only a united approach—including binding agreements on emission reductions, investment in adaptation measures, and fair climate finance—can meaningfully slow climate change. Collective action, while complex, is crucial for limiting global temperature rise, protecting biodiversity, and ensuring a more sustainable future for generations to come.
