Damauli (Tanahun), Kartik 27(November 12): Mukundeshwari footpath, which has been started to extend the stay of tourists coming to Bandipur in the tourist town of Tanahun, has gained momentum. The construction of the footpath started from Bandipur Rural Municipality-2 Thanimai Temple has gained momentum. This footpath has also been promoted as a ‘Mini Great Wall’.
The footpath which started construction from Thanimai Temple will end at Chulidanda. Surendra Thapa, chairman of the rural municipality, informed that the rural municipality plans to connect this footpath to Mukundeshwari Gadhi in the coming days. He said, “Bandipur is an attractive place for domestic and foreign tourists. They are trying to create a new destination with the aim of promoting tourism while extending the stay of the tourists who come here.
According to Thapa, work is currently being done to build walls on both sides, build stairs, and print slate stones on the right and left walls of the wall. He said, “There was a delay in its work for some time, now the speed of work has increased with the help of the village council.” Thapa informed that the distance of the footpath is two kilometers and 80 percent of the work has been completed. The rural municipality has a plan to build more infrastructure here. The cost of infrastructure construction according to the master plan has been estimated at Rs. 190 million. President Thapa mentioned that there is a plan to build Thanimai temple, garden, selfie garden, paragliding place, nine meter high Bandipur column, Ghoda Shayar, Pushpalal Smriti Park, Mukundeshwari Park and other structures here.
Thapa expressed his belief that the footpath wall built to resemble the world famous Great Wall will help in the development of tourism here. Mukundeshwari Danda is the place where the then King Mukunda Sen ruled. The footpath wall has also been named ‘Mukundeshwari Wall’. The walkway wall will be three meters wide. More than one lakh tourists visit Bandipur annually. Chairman of Bandipur Tourism Development Committee Kisan Pradhan said that if the stay of tourists visiting Bandipur can be extended, the tourism business will flourish and the income level of the locals will increase.

Houses built in Bhaktapure style, Tundikhel, Thanimai, Tindhara, Ranivan, Ramkot, Sunakhri, Khaddevi Temple, Vindhyavasini Temple, Mahalakshmi Temple, Information Center and other places have become the center of attraction for the tourists who come here.
Bandipur is reached after traveling 8 km uphill from Damauli, 18 km through Dumre. From where one can observe the picturesque snow ranges, mountains, and Takura. From Bandipur, which is full of natural beauty, you can see snow ranges like Annapurna, Machhapuchche, Dhaulagiri, etc.
