Rural Municipality promoting Bandipur Visit Year 2025

Damauli (Tanahun), 17 December: The Bandipur Rural Municipality of the district has started publicity and promotion to make the Bandipur Visit Year 2025 a success. The municipality has launched the campaign with the aim of making the Bandipur Visit Year a success and promoting tourism.

The rural municipality chairperson Surenda Thapa said that discussions were held to make the visit year a success by meeting various organizations and eminent personalities in Kathmandu under the leadership of the rural municipality. He mentioned that a team of representatives including Vice-Chairperson Panchamaya Gurung, Tourism Branch Chief Suraj Bhattarai, Bandipur Visit Year 2025 coordinator Baish Gurung, Raju Baniya and others have reached Kathmandu under the leadership of the rural municipality chairperson Thapa.

Chairman Thapa said that he has been requested to cooperate in promoting tourism by interacting with individuals at various levels and representatives of organizations in Kathmandu and publicizing the Visit Nepal Year. According to Thapa, various tourism promotion programs will be conducted throughout the year to introduce Bandipur to the country and abroad. He informed that Bandipur will be promoted by reaching out to major cities of the country including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini.

Stating that this program will be effective in improving the living standards of the locals by making tourism a source of income, Chairman Thapa emphasized that everyone’s cooperation is needed for this. He said, “Programs reflecting the mythology will be conducted to make Bandipur Bazaar, which is a specially protected area and a mythical city, more attractive.”

Thapa said that there is a plan to build a tourism center for the sustainable development of all six wards of Bandipur, the major tourist destination after Pokhara in Gandaki Province. He said, “The feasibility of paragliding, zipline and other adventure sports will be studied here.” Thapa mentioned that the goal is to gradually expand outdoor gyms in tourist destinations within the rural municipality and to make natural rocks in tourist areas more attractive.

He said, “Programs will be launched to protect, enhance and promote the ancient Chautara Thanti and gardens within the rural municipality. We will start the construction of the 25-pond lake park in Bandipur in the current fiscal year and also proceed with the feasibility study for the construction of the large Jhapri Phat reservoir and Devi Thumka reservoir.”

Chairman Thapa said that the municipality has prepared informative materials in nine languages ​​with the aim of providing information about the destinations here for the convenience of foreign tourists visiting Bandipur. He informed that the rural municipality has prepared informative materials about Bandipur in Nepali, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Spanish, Sinhala and Thai.

The rural municipality has listed Khadgadevi, Thanimai and Mahalakshmi temples, Siddhagufa, Manimukunda Sen trekking (mini Great Wall), Tindhara, waterfalls and water fountains, Tundikhel, Manimukunda Sen Palace, and Padam Library as major destinations.

Kisan Pradhan, Chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, informed that tourists from countries including Japan, China, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, France, America, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, Australia, Britain, Ireland, South Korea, Belgium, Thailand, Taiwan, Switzerland, Malaysia, Holland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Iran, India, Greece, Argentina, and others visit Bandipur.

He said that houses built in the Bhaktapur style, Tundikhel, Thanimai, Tindhara, Raniban, Ramkot, Sunkhari, Khaddevi Temple, Vindhyavasini Temple, Mahalaxmi Temple, Information Center and other places are the center of attraction for tourists coming here.

From the district headquarters Damauli, 18 kilometers away via Dumre and an eight-kilometer uphill journey, Bandipur is reached. From here, one can observe the natural beauty including the picturesque mountain ranges, hills, peaks. The committee chairman Pradhan mentioned that foreign tourists come here because the mountain ranges including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri are visible from Bandipur, which is endowed with natural beauty.
