Preparations underway so that 70 percent students pass in SEE: Prime Minister Oli

Dhulikhel, Aug 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli  said that online classes will be conducted across the country so that at least 70 percent of students could pass the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE). Addressing the 29th convocation ceremony of Kathmandu University here today, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chancellor of the university, directed the relevant agencies to run special classes through online media on behalf of the federal government in English, Mathematics, Science and other major subjects. “The situation where only around 50 percent pass the SEE is an injustice to the students. To end this situation, I have given instructions to the Ministry of Education, Nepal Telecom and other agencies to make the necessary arrangements”, Oli said. He also clarified that the government will proceed more clearly and firmly in the coming days for the prosperity of the country and the strengthening of overall education system. Prime Minister Oli urged the students enrolled in various departments in the university to make proper use of the knowledge and skills, they have acquired and become worthy citizens for the society. Prime Minister Oli presented the Chancellor’s Gold Medal to Mijala Chitrakar, who obtained four CGPA at the postgraduate level in the School of Arts, and the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal to Mukesh Tiwari, who obtained four CGPs at the graduate level from the School of Sciences. Two thousands three hundreds and fourteen students including foreign students were graduated in the ceremony. —
