Pokhara Metropolitan City is preparing to announce the Pokhara Visit Year

Kaski, February 8: Preparations are underway to declare Pokhara Visit Year with the goal of attracting two million domestic and foreign tourists to the country’s tourist capital, Pokhara.

Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya said that the Pokhara Metropolitan City has prepared to hold the official announcement ceremony of Pokhara Visit Year 2025 on February 15 at the Pokhara Exhibition Center. To prepare for the announcement ceremony, 43 sub-committees have been formed, including a 1,050-member organizing committee under the coordination of Mayor Acharya, a steering committee led by Mayor Acharya, and a work execution committee representing the tourism sector.

These committees and subcommittees include representatives of government and non-governmental organizations active in the Pokhara metropolitan area, all four security agencies, industrialists, businessmen, the information and communication sector, representatives of political parties, local neighborhood development organizations, human rights activists, and civil society representatives.

“We are busy preparing for the grand declaration of Pokhara as Visit Year. We are consulting and discussing with everyone. Ambassadors of various countries will also participate to make the Visit Year a success,” said Acharya. Preparations are also underway to announce a goodwill ambassador to promote Pokhara abroad on the occasion of Visit Nepal Year.

Pokhara’s tourism promotion activities will be conducted throughout the year. A grand tableau procession with local costumes will be taken out from all 33 wards of the metropolis under the joint initiative of Pokhara Metropolitan City and Gandaki Provincial Government.

Mayor Acharya said that the program will be jointly organized by Pokhara Metropolitan City and Gandaki Province Government and that the program will be organized with a tableau and rally representing all 33 wards of East Pokhara. Similarly, a tableau and rally with a banner will be organized from the tourism sector.

Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Taranath Pahari said that the Pokhara Visit Year will be good for the tourism sector and that tourism-related organizations will work together to make it a success.
