Kathmandu, 1 Jul: Nepal has been ranked seventh among the top solo adventure travel destinations for 2025. The ranking comes from the UK-based adventure travel company Much Better Adventures, which recently released its list of top destinations for solo adventurers.
The Nepal Tourism Board has claimed that the country has been effectively showcasing its adventurous, natural, and cultural diversity to the global community. It also stated that its policies promoting responsible tourism, ease of access, the use of local guides, and community-based tourism have helped make Nepal a safer, more reliable, and attractive destination for solo travelers.
Nepal received high praise in Much Better Adventures’ list for its unique landscapes, rich culture, budget-friendly services, and wide range of adventure activities. Highlights such as the Everest Base Camp trek, the Annapurna Circuit, and jungle safaris in Chitwan National Park have made Nepal a top choice for solo travelers seeking both inner peace and thrilling experiences.
To further enhance the solo travel experience, the Nepal Tourism Board has focused on providing essential information at destinations, ensuring safe travel through local guides, and promoting a balanced mix of cultural, natural, and adventurous activities. Under its responsible tourism policy, the board prioritizes community involvement and conservation, particularly in Himalayan regions, national parks, and heritage sites.

Nepal has also been recognized as a budget-friendly destination due to its relatively low travel costs. The report notes, “Nepal offers affordable accommodations, budget-friendly packages, and a wealth of cultural and natural experiences.”
According to Sam Bruce, co-founder of Much Better Adventures, the list was compiled based on expert recommendations and customer travel experiences, taking into account factors such as safety, sustainability, accessibility, and overall popularity.
He states, “Nepal offers solo travelers stunning natural beauty, deep spirituality, and warm hospitality—whether it’s the bustling alleys of Kathmandu or the peaceful and scenic trails of the Himalayas.”
