Nepal Honored as the ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year’ at IITM Pune 2025

Kathmandu, 29 Nov: Nepal has been recognized as the ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year’ at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) held in Pune. The prestigious award was presented to Nepal during the Awards Night of IITM–Pune 2025, held from November 27 to 29. On behalf of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), board member Narendra Bhatt accepted the honor.

During the event’s ‘Destination Presentation’ session, NTB Senior Officer Robin Regmi delivered an impressive audio-visual presentation showcasing Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions. The presentation highlighted the Buddha Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, transnational eco-trails, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, spiritual pilgrimage routes, world-class trekking and mountaineering opportunities, and a wide range of thrilling adventure sports.

According to Senior Officer Regmi, Nepal’s active participation in IITM Pune 2025 has further strengthened its relationship with the Indian tourism market. It has also helped position Nepal as an “all-season destination” and a country offering a “lifetime experience.” NTB, in collaboration with 15 leading travel trade companies, effectively presented Nepal’s unique tourism packages and attractions to Indian travel professionals and promoters. The three-day travel mart saw the participation of hundreds of representatives and tourism entrepreneurs from around the world.

The Nepal Pavilion at IITM served as an impactful platform to showcase Nepal’s cultural heritage, adventure destinations, and warm hospitality. According to NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi, the successful participation of the board and its partners has significantly increased interest and demand for Nepal in the Indian market. He expressed confidence that continued engagement in such international platforms will further solidify Nepal’s standing as a top travel destination for Indian tourists.

Nepal is an affordable and naturally exceptional country. Although tourism had been growing, it slowed down for some time following the Gen Z movement. However, after a while, the flow of both local and foreign visitors has increased again, surpassing the numbers of the previous year.
