Sindhupalchowk, 1 February: Melamchi-7 Duwachaur has won the title of the district-level volleyball tournament organized by the Sindhu Young Star Youth Club.
In the final match held on Friday, Melamchi-7 defeated the host Sindhu Young Star 2-0 and received the title, a cash shield, medal and trophy of Rs 100,000. The second-placed host settled for Rs 65,000. Similarly, Srijanshil Youth Club Melamchi-7 defeated Jugal Rural Municipality and received the third place, cash 35,000 and a shield medal, informed Sun Bahadur Ghale of the host club. The winners were awarded by the chief guest, Mayor of Melamchi Municipality Aitaman Tamang, Ward Chairman Kirandeep Khadka and others. The competition was organized at the sports ground of Janata Secondary School Melamchi-9.
Melamchi, Helambu and Panchpokhari teachers’ volleyball tournament begins at Terse Secondary School
On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Shree Terse Secondary School located in Melamchi Municipality-6, the Melamchi Municipality, Helambu and Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-level inter-school teacher volleyball tournament was inaugurated by Melamchi Municipality Mayor Shri Aitaman Tamang during a program on Friday. Sixteen different schools are participating in the tournament.
Inaugurating the program, Mayor Tamang said that the municipality is working in a planned manner for the development of the sports sector and said that work has been started to manage dance instructors and sports teachers in schools to make extracurricular activities effective, and work is being done to effectively reach all schools in the coming days.
The league stage of the competition held in the school premises was held on the first day. In the opening match of the first round, the host Terse Mavi defeated Thangpal Valley to become the winner, while Helambu Model School defeated Indreshwori Mavi, Jyotibhanjyang Mavi defeated Batase Mavi, Jalpadevi Mavi defeated Sindhupuranagaun Mavi, Balsudar Mavi defeated Dhauleshwari Mavi, and Chandika Mavi defeated Sarvodaya Mavi to become the winner. The organizers have informed that the quarterfinal matches will be held on Saturday along with the remaining matches of the league stage.
