Kulman Ghising is light of Nepal. He was born on 25 Nov. 1970 in Bethan, Ramechhap of Nepal.
He is recently Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). He is an Electrical Engineer and has good experience and skilled in Hydropower sector.
Kulman Ghising’s primary school was in his village. He moved to Kathmandu from his village after 5 class with his brothers. He admitted for study at Balsewa secondary school and next is Amaras Boarding school. He changed many schools to study in young age. Kulman studied I.SC after passing SLC from high school. After I.SC he got scholarship to study electrical engineering in India. He completed master in power system in engineering from Pulchowk campus, Nepal. He also finished MBA education in management from Pokhara University.
After returning from India, he started to work in Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) as electrical Engineer. Kulman Ghising got the responsibility of Chilime Hydropower while he was working in NEA. He completed project on time and his career was started on turning point.
Kulman Ghisisng was appointed the managing director MD on 14 Sep 2016 from Nepal government. He was serving in Nepal Electricity Authority more than 20 years before he became MD. His main achievement is eliminated 18 hours Load Shedding in Nepal. Nepalese people were really living in dark before Kulman. He changed Nepal dark to light, this is his miracle. Nepal Electricity Authority was lost huge amount every year when other MDs were. Now Kulman Ghising has given profit huge amount every year. He doesn’t want bribes, he doesn’t like corruption. He is really hero of light in Nepal. Now he is worry about consumption electricity because Nepal has more capacity of production. The government of Bangladesh and NEA agreed to trade electricity from Nepal to Bangladesh. Indian government also ready to buy electricity from Nepal. This is a great achievement for NEA and Nepal government.
Eight years ago, it was a net loss of 34.61 billion Rupees before Kulman but now it is a net profit of 47.41 billion Rupees after Kulman.
