Kathmandu, 7 May: Khoj Samachar, an independent Nepali digital news platform known for its alternative and analytical reporting, has completed three years since its launch. Founded on July 22, 2021 (Shrawan 7, 2078 B.S.), the platform was established under Bethel Media House Pvt. Ltd., with a vision to promote fact-based, non-promotional journalism in Nepal.
At a time when Nepal’s media ecosystem was largely dominated by traditional and mainstream narratives, Khoj Samachar began its journey with a clear editorial mission: to provide in-depth analysis on public policy, education, labor, governance, and social justice issues that often go underreported.
Alternative Journalism Rooted in Facts:
Khoj Samachar was founded by Roshan Shrestha, a media professional who has long been active in Nepal’s journalism sector. Speaking about the platform’s original vision, Shrestha shared:
“We wanted to create a space that prioritizes substance over sensation—where facts, not just headlines, drive the news.”
The portal has remained committed to publishing source-backed, document-based reports, deliberately avoiding advertorial or unverified content.
Some of the most notable reports include in-depth coverage of the 2025 Teachers’ Protest, audits of the Nepal Electricity Authority, and breakdowns of federal budget allocations and their local impact.
Editorially, the platform emphasizes fact-checking, neutrality, and transparent sourcing in every report, in alignment with global standards of public interest journalism.
