Iran has said it will respond to the United States.
Following a U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Sunday morning, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran would retaliate.
“By attacking our nuclear infrastructure, the U.S. has crossed the red line. We must respond,” CNN quoted Araghchi as saying.
Araghchi also said that responding to the United States is Iran’s right to self-defense.
He said he was not sure how much room remained for a diplomatic solution.
“But the U.S. action is an unimaginable, grave, and unprecedented violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law,” he stated.
He also said that Washington would be solely responsible for the aggressive and dangerous consequences of its actions.
He urged the United Nations Security Council to convene an emergency meeting immediately, to clearly condemn the U.S.’s criminal aggression, and to hold the Washington administration accountable for violating international law.
“Iran will defend itself by all possible means not only against the U.S. military aggression but also against the reckless and illegal actions of the Israeli regime,” he said.
On Saturday morning, the U.S. dropped bombs targeting three of Iran’s nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that all those nuclear facilities were destroyed in the American strikes. Iran, however, has not commented on the matter.

After the U.S. attack, Iran launched a missile at Israel for the first time
Iran has attacked Israel.
On Sunday night, after the U.S. carried out strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear project sites, Iran responded by launching a missile at Israel during the day.
According to U.S. media outlet CNN, Iran targeted apartment buildings near Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv, using missiles and drones.
The Iranian attack reduced the buildings to rubble.
CNN reported that several four-story buildings were damaged in the attack.
Since the U.S. strike on Iran, Iran has been continuously launching missile and drone attacks on Israel.
According to Israel’s Ministry of Health, 86 people have been injured in Israel since the attacks began in the morning.
Of them, 77 have sustained moderate injuries.
Heavy machinery is currently being used to clear the debris of buildings damaged by the Iranian attack.
The U.S. launched its strike on Iran at around 2:30 AM on Sunday, targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that those nuclear programs were completely destroyed. Iran, however, has not issued any response regarding the matter.
