Harka Sampang’s status
Harka Sampang is a simple mayor
Harka Sampang is the mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City. Officially, his role and responsibilities are limited to Dharan alone. But then, why did people from across the country become his supporters? Why did everyone start chanting “Harka, Harka”?

When you listen to him speak, there is no sweetness in his words. His tone is rough, he doesn’t know how to show respect to others. Yet, people still chant his name.
The reason is that Harka launched a voluntary labor campaign for the development of Dharan. This was something completely new, because until now, no leader, minister, or mayor had ever initiated such a campaign.
The voluntary labor campaign in Dharan gained huge attention. It received praise both nationally and internationally. Thousands of people enthusiastically came forward to contribute their labor. Without spending the development budget of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, rapid development is being carried out through the people’s voluntary efforts.

Harka has inspired people both at home and abroad.
That is why, even though he is just a mayor, he has secured a place in people’s hearts above many big leaders.
That is why, when he came from Dharan to Kathmandu, thousands welcomed him, cheered for him, and honored him. This was the evaluation of his work.
