Ashish Silwal from Kathmandu spent three days in the beauty of nature observing the lifestyle of the Shepherds in Garpachheda. “There was an opportunity to study the disappearing nomadic herds and the traditional customs of animal husbandry,” he said.
From here you can see the scenery of Sisne, Putha, Gurja, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu mountains. In addition to the beautiful view of the mountainous topography of Dhorpatan hunting reserve, the herds of sheep, goats, horses and cattle grazing in Buki’s pastures are an additional attraction.
Ramesh Chhetri who came from Chandrakot rural municipality of Gulmi, said that one can enjoy the calm environment and cool climate. He said that it is a feeling of exhilaration to enjoy the colorful blooming flowers with the clouds, sun and rain.
Garpachheda, which can be reached after a three hour uphill walk from Pakhathar in Dhorpatan is on the traditional footpath to Putha Uttarganga rural municipality in East Rukum and capital city in Dolpa.
