Kathmandu, 28 February: Kathmandu Metropolitan City is planning to organize ‘Educational Fair 2081’ to share the impact on students and knowledge learned from programs launched to improve educational outcomes and educational environment in schools under its jurisdiction.
KMC spokesperson Nabin Manandhar informed that the ‘Kathmandu Educational Fair 2081’ will be organized at the National Assembly Hall on the Exhibition Road on February 16 and 17. Stating that there will be collaboration with participating schools and organizations in the operation and management of the program, he said that the fair is expected to establish a milestone for the innovation and upgrading of school education and provide dimensional feedback for upcoming programs.
Engineer Shailendra Jha, a member of the Urban Planning Commission of KMC, informed that the results of practical and experimental classes have been started to be seen just like the written examination of theoretical subjects at the end of the academic session. Efforts have been made by community schools through various programs to conduct school education scientifically and practically and in accordance with the interests of students and the wishes of their parents.
According to Acting Education Officer Keshav Gyawali, the fair will include programs such as improving educational quality, educational, physical, mental, and character development of children, school infrastructure, and capacity development of teachers.
Students will showcase their latest learning activities in the exhibition and presentation. 35 educational subgroups under ‘Book Free Friday’ will showcase their interests and results through stalls. Teachers, students, parents, public representatives, and domestic and foreign guests are invited to visit the fair. Community schools will provide lunch for Rs. 30 as lunch, while 10 stalls will provide lunch for Rs. 30 to everyone. Similarly, an exhibition reflecting Nepali language learning methods, original culture, costumes, and original musical instruments and singing performances will be included.
Student Model Parliament Practice is an important attraction of the fair. Discussions on school education reform, an exhibition of learning through Maruhiti water quality testing technology under the Baba subgroup of ‘Book Free Friday’, an exhibition of more than 1,000 sketching and sculpture samples depicting students’ experiences, activities related to the Teacher College Program, and practice on improving results can be observed at the fair.
In KMC, 272,263 students, including 61,329 students, are studying in 87 community schools and 210,934 in 524 institutional schools.
