Kathmandu, Ahoj 12 (Sep 28): Life has been affected due to continuous rains across the country for three days. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bagmati province has been more affected due to incessant rains. Rishiram Tiwari, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs informed that there were incidents of damage in Bagmati, especially in Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu and Lalitpur. Many small and big roads in this area including BP highway, Prithvi highway are blocked.
In other provinces too, there have been many incidents of blocking of highways and erosion of arable land along rivers and streams. At present, compared to other parts, Sudurpaschim and Karnali have received normal rain.
According to the ministry, details of some damage have been received in Dhankuta and other areas of Kosi province. To the west, the Kaligandaki corridor is also blocked. The security forces and the road department are also working with the help of the locals to open the blocked roads. He informed that the Ministry’s efforts are focused on minimizing the human and material damage.
The Ministry has requested all citizens not to go out of their homes and to the river banks during the rainy season except in urgent cases. Currently, in terms of water level, 22 rivers have crossed the danger limit and 14 are in a warning state. Many houses are sunk in Kathmandu due to heavy rainfalls. Many places are affected in Kathmandu, especially in Lalitpur side.Â
