Kathmandu, 21 November: Congratulations to Nepalese young kickboxer Aviral Ghimire ‘Himchituwa’ who succeeded in making a historical record in the field of kickboxing. In the program organized by Chandragiri municipality today, Ghimire, the world champion player of both ISKA and Hit Kick Boxing competitions, was felicitated by going around the city today.
The municipality took Ghimire, the world champion player, along with Dhime, Panche baja in a car and made a city tour from Kalanki (Khadkulepul). On this occasion, Chief Ghanshyam Giri of Chandragiri Municipality, Administrative Officer Hemraj Aryal, Deputy Chief Basanti Shrestha, Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Khadgi congratulated Boxer Ghimire.
Boxer Ghimire, who has been living in Nagoya, Japan, came home this afternoon. He was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by former minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha, president of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Vinod Shrestha, member of Bagmati Provincial Assembly Rama Ale, spokesperson of Chandragiri Municipality Khadgi, president of Kathmandu District Sports Council Bhaikrishna Balami and other players.
On that occasion, Boxer Ghimire had a brief conversation with the media and said that it is a matter of pride for Nepal to become the world champion of both ISKA and Hit Kick Boxing competitions. He said, “He will continue his hard work in the coming days. I will make Nepal’s name higher by playing the game with the flag of Nepal. “
‘Himalaya Cheetah’ Ghimire became the world champion by winning the title of the ‘International Kickboxing’ (ISCA) tournament organized by the International Sports Kickboxing Association at the Nagoya Congress Center on 10th October last. In this competition, he succeeded in becoming the ‘World Champion’ by defeating his fierce rival Antonin Marconi of France. For this, Boxer Ghimire took two months of special closed training at Tiger Moothai International Club in Phuket, Thailand at his own expense. He was also the first Nepali boxer to take this training.
After winning the ISKA title, Boxer Ghimire thanked his father and head coach Dev Ghimire, Simura Dojo where he is training, Nepali, Korean and Japanese sports fans who came to the hall and encouraged him. Ghimire, who was world-famous as the ‘Himalaya Leopard’, was the first Nepali boxer to face off in that competition. In the final match (main event match) which was the main attraction of the competition, Ghimire defeated his competitor Marconi in the ring in the first round and won the title of ‘International Kick Boxing’.
So far, Himchituwa has managed to maintain the ‘middle weight record’ by defending the ‘title match’ title (belt) of the hit competition four times while winning the undefeated journey of 14 matches in the professional kick boxing hit competition. He was playing in the world-famous K One Professional Kickboxing tournament and managed to ‘knock out’ his opponent by winning two events in his favor. Ghimire, who has defeated boxers from countries such as France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Bolivia, Netherlands, Thailand, etc., has succeeded in creating Nepal’s identity in the world by waving the Nepali flag in international competitions.
