Kathmandu, 15, Sep: President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers—Rameshwar Khanal, Kulman Ghising, and Om Prakash Aryal—at a special ceremony held today at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas. President Paudel had appointed them on Sunday evening on the recommendation of Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki.
Among the newly appointed ministers, Khanal has been assigned the Ministry of Finance, Ghising has been given the Ministries of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Physical Infrastructure and Transport; and Urban Development. Aryal has been entrusted with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The responsibility for the remaining ministries will be handled by Prime Minister Karki herself.
Khanal is a former Finance Secretary, Ghising is the former Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, and Aryal is an advocate. Khanal has been working in the areas of economic reform and good governance, while Ghising has been raising the voice of the citizens since leaving his responsibility at the Authority.

Three Ministers Newly appointed oath
Advocate Aryal had come into the spotlight after filing an appeal in the case related to the ineligibility of the then Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki. The newly appointed ministers have been informed that they will assume their offices at Singha Durbar today itself.
On that occasion, Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Karki, Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, heads of constitutional bodies and officials, high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal, heads and officers of security agencies, among others, were present.
Amidst the protests by the ‘Gen-Je’ group and the resulting situation, President Paudel had appointed former Chief Justice Karki as the Prime Minister of the interim government on Bhadau 27 (mid-August).
