Kathmandu, 24 Aug: The family of Bipin Joshi, who is under the control of the Hamas group, has met with Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba. On Sunday, Bipin’s mother Padma and sister Pushpa met with Foreign Minister Dr. Rana.
Minister Dr. Rana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have expressed gratitude for the efforts made so far for Bipin’s release and have urged them to continue with more active efforts in the coming days.
At the initiative of Minister Dr. Rana and with the coordination and support of the Israeli Embassy in Nepal, Bipin’s mother and sister had recently gone to Israel to understand Bipin’s situation and appeal for his release. After returning from Israel, they met Minister Dr. Rana and informed him about this.
While in Israel, she informed that she had received support from Nepali Ambassador to Israel Prof. Dr. Dhan Prasad Pandit and Israeli government officials, and that she had met with the President and high-ranking government officials there to appeal for Bipin’s release.
Minister Dr. Rana said that the government is making all possible diplomatic efforts for the release of Bipin and will strengthen it further in the coming days. Minister Dr. Rana informed that she was appointed as a minister about 9 months after Bipin was kidnapped and immediately started working on the issue by making it a priority.
She said, “During this year, I have been urging Bipin’s release at various bilateral and international meetings and meetings, from the United Nations General Assembly to the international forums I have attended. We have continued to conduct correspondence and other necessary initiatives as much as we can through diplomatic channels.”
Minister Dr. Rana informed that she has been vigorously raising the issue of Bipin’s release in meetings with foreign ministers and officials from Israel, Egypt, Iran, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and other countries. She said that the government will further vigorously pursue the issue of Bipin’s release in the coming days. Bipin Joshi was abducted by the Hamas group from Israel in October 2023. His whereabouts are unknown since then.
