Appeal to Refrain from Visiting Israel and Iran

Kathmandu, 19 June: The Government of Nepal has appealed to the public not to travel to Israel and Iran at the present time. Taking into account the developments arising from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, the government has urged everyone to refrain from visiting these two countries unless absolutely necessary, until further notice.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a travel advisory on behalf of the government, requesting Nepali citizens currently in Israel and Iran, as well as those planning to travel from Nepal to Israel or other countries in the Middle East, to avoid travel unless it is of utmost necessity, and to exercise maximum caution from a security perspective.

The Ministry highlighted that several countries around the world have requested their citizens to leave Israel and Iran. It explained that many have urged their nationals to stay safe, remain in contact with their communities, follow the safety alerts and instructions issued by the respective governments, and avoid going outside except at designated times and locations.

The Government of Nepal has similarly advised Nepali citizens residing in conflict-affected Israel and Iran to prioritize their safety and avoid leaving their homes, bunkers, or shelters except at specified times and places. It has also urged them to stay updated on safety alerts, travel and movement guidelines, and information related to safe zones issued by the Government of Israel.

Nepali nationals are advised to stay in regular contact with the Nepali community and the Embassy of Nepal in Israel, and to regularly monitor updates and travel advisories issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy.
