Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least 93 people and wounded 278 on Tuesday, according to the health ministry operated by Hamas, as Israeli ground forces continued their operations in the area.
The report did not indicate how many of the dead were combatants. Local officials stated that dozens of women and children were among the casualties, though the ministry did not provide exact figures.
One of the strikes targeted the northern Shati refugee camp, killing a Hamas member of the now-defunct Palestinian Authority legislature, along with a man, a woman, and their six children who were sheltering in the same building. The victims were taken to Shifa Hospital, where officials identified the legislator as 68-year-old Mohammed Faraj al-Ghoul.
One of the deadliest airstrikes occurred Monday evening in Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa district, where a house was hit, killing 19 members of a single family, according to Shifa Hospital. Among the dead were eight women and six children. In the same area, another strike on a tent sheltering displaced people killed a man, a woman, and their two children.
The Israeli military has not commented on these specific strikes. It maintains that it takes steps to minimize civilian harm, using aerial surveillance and precision weapons. The military also accuses Hamas of operating from within civilian areas, including hospitals.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Gaza resident Anas Arafat told The Times of Israel that Israeli drone fire had for hours prevented emergency crews from reaching his family members — including his parents, brothers, and their children — who were trapped under the rubble in the Tuffah neighborhood after an Israeli strike the previous day.
According to Anas Arafat, rescuers reached the site on Tuesday afternoon but lacked the heavy machinery needed to clear the rubble. They were able to recover the remains of one woman. Arafat said it appeared that the rest of the family — 13 people in total — had not survived, as no voices had been heard from beneath the debris since Monday.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not immediately comment on the incident.
