US President Donald Trump has said that additional US military strikes against Iran could take place before the November midterm elections, while claiming that the conflict could come to an end “very soon.”
In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Trump declined to rule out the possibility of renewed US military action against Iran ahead of the elections. His remarks came as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high, with the possibility of further military escalation continuing to draw international attention.
Speaking at the PGA Tour Presidents Cup, Trump said he believed the United States would prevail in the conflict in the near future. He also emphasized that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon remained a central objective of the US campaign.
“I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to win this war very soon,” Trump said, describing Iran’s nuclear capabilities as a key issue in the conflict.
Trump also claimed that the United States was achieving success against Iran on both military and economic fronts. He said Washington had already achieved significant military gains but indicated that the US campaign was not necessarily over.
“We’ve already won it really from a military standpoint,” Trump said. “But that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped that.”
When asked directly whether the United States might launch further military strikes against Iran before the November midterm elections, Trump avoided giving a definitive answer.
“I don’t want to say that. I don’t want to say that. I mean, it’s possible, but I just don’t want to say that,” he said.
Trump’s comments leave open the possibility of renewed US military action while providing no specific timeline or details about potential operations. His statement that the war could end “very soon” also suggests that his administration is seeking an outcome that would allow the conflict to conclude without prolonged military engagement.
