1,500 households in darkness due to damage to electricity poles

Damauli (Tanahun), Ashoj 14 (Sep 30): Due to the rains since Thursday, power was cut off in 1,500 households in two local levels due to the damage to the electricity pole at Naldi under Buddhasingh Marg here.

Due to the landslide that came along with the rains, the consumers of Devghat Rural Municipality and Rishing Rural Municipality have to live in the dark when the electricity pole in Naldi on the border of Byas Municipality and Bandipur Rural Municipality was damaged. Vijay Regmi, Head of Tanahun Distribution Center of Nepal Electricity Authority, informed that it was difficult to operate electricity as the road was also blocked by the landslide.

Regmi said that 11 KV ‘double circuit’ buried in Naldi, nine of 11-meter long steel poles fell and were damaged so that they could not be used. Regmi said that electricity poles were also damaged in other parts of the district due to the flood. According to him, landslides have damaged electricity poles in Shepabagaicha of Bhanu municipality, Chhabdibarahi, Ghasikuwa, Kamalbari, Karangkath and other places of Byas municipality.
