In Bethanchok, students have built a ‘car.’

Bethanchok: Students from various schools in Bethanchok Rural Municipality have built an automatic car.

The students, who attended a robotics training organized by the municipality, used technology to create items such as an automatic car and a smart dustbin. Sudarshan Lopchan from Bhairav Mavi, Ward Number 1, mentioned, “With the materials available, we can now build such things at home. The training increased our knowledge and skills, which we will use for making other items.”

The training aimed to provide technology-friendly and skill-based education, as explained by Pushpa Rai, the Education Officer of Bethanchok Rural Municipality. The training was conducted for three days by Prashant Chaudhary, President of the Robotics Club of Gujarat, along with Prince Chaudhary and Saksham Shrestha from the Robotics Club of Kathmandu University.

During the three-day training, they learned to create Bluetooth-controlled cars, smart dustbins, and home automation systems. Trainer Prashant Chaudhary said, “In this training, they learned to prepare these items using various apps, programming, motors, and sensors. They have expressed their intention to create other devices using the same technology and skills.”

Albert Dahal, a 9th grader at Chhareshwar Secondary School, mentioned that he made his own festive lights for Tihar and plans to use them again in the future. The Municipality Chairman, Bhagwan Adhikari, highlighted the aim of making Bethanchok a hub of innovation, encouraging youth and students to engage in exploration and research.
