Tilicho Lake of Nepal

Tilicho Lake, located in the Manang District of Nepal, is one of the highest lake in the world, nestled at an elevation of approximately 4,919 meters (16,138 feet) above sea level in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. This pristine lake is fed by glacial melt and is renowned for its deep blue waters surrounded by stark, snow-capped mountains. It holds significant importance both for its natural beauty and for trekkers, as it is part of the Annapurna Circuit, one of Nepal’s most popular trekking routes.

Reaching Tilicho Lake is a challenging endeavor due to its high altitude and rugged trails, but those who make the journey are rewarded with breathtaking landscapes and an unparalleled sense of tranquility. The best seasons to visit are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) when the weather is generally more favorable, offering clear views of the surrounding peaks.

Tilicho Lake is also of cultural and religious importance for Hindus, as it is mentioned in ancient Hindu texts. For adventurers, it is not only a site of natural wonder but also a testament to Nepal’s rich cultural tapestry and diverse geography.

If tourists select Besishahar, Lamjung to trek for Tilicho, they start from Besishahar to Khudi,  Bhulbhule,  Myade,  Syagi,  Jagat,  Chyamje, Taal,  Dharapani,  Bagar,  Chame connect to  Dhukur pokhari,  Pisang,  Humre and Manang and Khansar. From Besishahar to Khansar, road is good for own private car driving, public buses or motor bike. From Khansar, you trek for 3 to 5 hours and reach Base Camp. Every tourist stays one night in Base Camp and starts journey early in the morning, takes times 3 to 6 hours to reach Tilicho Lake. If some tourists have been faced trouble in trekking, there are horses available to ride. It’s good time to reach until 9 am, after 10 am, there is cold wind blowing around the lake.

After you reach Tilicho Lake, same process you apply to return to Besishahar.
