There can be no greater religion than service to humanity

Lamjung, 18th January: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that there is no greater religion than human service.

At the donation handover program organized by Ncell for the construction of the ashram building at Manav Sewa Ashram in Besisahar Municipality-7 today, he said that the support provided for the service of people who have reached the streets for various reasons is important. “Many people also help in other ways, but helping people who have been neglected by their families and are roaming on the streets for various reasons is the best religion,” said Minister Gurung, the government spokesperson. “Everyone should be ready to help people in trouble. Providing such support is a great religion.”

He expressed his commitment to continue supporting the construction of ashrams in four places including Lamjung, Kaski, and Gorkha when he was the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province and expressed his commitment to continue supporting in the coming days.

Minister Gurung praised the contribution being made by Manav Sewa Ashram for the service and upliftment of people who are roaming on the streets. He said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is also watching the work being done by the ashram with interest and stressed that everyone should love the ashram. “The Prime Minister himself and his mother (the Prime Minister’s wife) are its patrons. That is why we all pay attention to the work of the ashram,” said Minister Gurung.

At the program, Ncell representative Dilliram Shrestha said that his organization has provided Rs 1 million for the construction of the ashram building under social responsibility. He said that the organization has provided more than Rs 2 billion in the fields of education, health and environment so far.

Meanwhile, Minister Gurung has already inspected the Manav Sewa Ashram building under construction here today. While inspecting the Manav Sewa Ashram under construction in Pakhatok, Besisahar Municipality-9, Lamjung, he expressed his commitment to support the construction of the building.
